STRENGTHENING THE SCHOOL THROUGH THEATER ARTS
SSTTA is an in-school program that serves students and teachers in inner-city elementary and high schools through training in the theater arts.
This program is designed to:

Enhance learning as well as cognitive and social skill development of students in Chicago Public Schools.

Equip teachers with strategies to improve classroom management.

Empower teachers to teach curriculum through theatre arts.
The SSTTA program uses curriculum that incorporates acting exercises used by professional theater arts performers.
Activities implement elements of drama, dance, and music to enhance the learning environment.
These activities can be adapted based on:

The needs of our partner schools.

The classroom curriculum set forth by our partnering teachers.
